Getting an education still changes everything
Even with the world changing fast, one thing hasn’t: Education after high school can open up more options for your future, and financial aid can help make those options more affordable. It can mean more stability, greater connections, and a better shot at overcoming hard times.
Affording an education can be challenging, but accessing financial aid is improving (on average, it takes about 20 minutes to fill out a financial aid application!) and coaches across LA are ready to help. That’s why finishing the FAFSA or CADAA matters so much. It’s the starting point to opportunity.

In California, over 75% of high school seniors last year submitted a FAFSA or CADAA–a huge milestone meaning more students than ever are getting the funds to reach their college dreams. But not every neighborhood has had the same access to financial aid support. Complete LA is focused on reaching students in key regions that are experiencing gaps in financial aid help: Antelope Valley, East San Gabriel Valley & Pomona, the Gateway Cities, Inglewood, the South Bay, San Fernando Valley, LA City, and Southeast LA.
Students and families like yours are exactly who California is counting on for a better future. If you’re a first-generation student, if your family is navigating this process without knowing anyone who’s been through it, or if immigration status has made you nervous to even start applying, Complete LA is built with you in mind.
How we make financial aid support possible
Complete LA is a campaign by the Southern California College Attainment Network (SoCal CAN), aimed at supporting more students in Los Angeles County to access money they deserve to afford college. For 20 years, SoCal CAN has been pushing for college access and student success by working with hundreds of community, education, and policy leaders because we believe that every student, no matter their zip code or background, deserves a shot at opportunity.
